Welcome to the Web pages of Vladimir Prelog Science School in Zagreb, Croatia!

As a secondary science school with eight hundred students, eighty teachers and an almost sixty-year-long teaching tradition, we offer the following curricula:

a) High School of Science (High School Graduate) - provides and encourages experimental education in natural sciences and prepares students for higher education.

b) School of Chemistry (Chemistry Technician) - provides students with practical skills and prepares them for the world of work, as well as for higher education.

c) School of Geology (Geology Technician) - provides students with a good basis in theory and field work experience, and prepares them for higher education or the work in industry, education and government service.

d) School of Ecology (Ecology Technician) - provides students with an education in environmental sciences and field work experience, and prepares them for higher eduaction and work.

e) School of Beauty Therapy (Beauty Therapist) - provides students with first-class training and an apprenticeship programme.

Classes are held in air-conditioned and technically-equipped classrooms, while the experimental and practical work is carried out in six fully-equipped science labs, two sixteen-bed beauty salons and two computer labs. Students, for example, produce liquid soap, chalk and distilled water as part of their practical training.

They also have a library at their disposal, where they can prepare their studies or spend their free time, and a gym, where they can take up and play various sports.

Many of our students are recognised for their achievements in various academic competitions (chemistry, physics, biology, history, etc.), but also for their achivements in extra-curricular activites, such as sports (indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, handball, table-tennis) and performing arts (dance and drama groups).

There are many opportunities for their involvement in students' association and various school groups (school band, choir, magazine, etc.)

Last but not least, there is Julka the goat, the school's mascot and students' favourite pet.
